Quran reading with Tajweed for kids, one to one

  • Correct, steady recitation

  • Free 3-day trial class

What does Quran reading with Tajweed mean for a child?

Tajweed is the set of rules that tells a reader how to pronounce each letter and how long to hold each sound, so the Quran is recited as it was taught. For a child, learning Tajweed does not mean memorizing a long list of rules at once. It means reading real lines of the Quran and being shown, one small point at a time, how to say them correctly.

This course is for children who have finished Noorani Qaida or can already read Arabic letters and short words. If your child is just starting, begin with Noorani Qaida for kids.

What will my child practice?

The teacher builds Tajweed into the reading itself. Topics are introduced when the lines your child is reading need them, including:

  • Correct makharij and the difference between similar letters
  • Rules for noon sakin, tanween and meem sakin
  • Madd and the length of each stretched sound
  • Stopping and starting correctly while reading
  • Steady, clear reading from the mushaf, with fluency building over time

The aim is a child who reads carefully and knows why a sound is said a certain way, not one who simply repeats what they hear.

Who teaches the course?

Ustadha Ayesha Azmat holds the Alimah Fazilah qualification, the eight-year Dars-e-Nizami course from Wifaq-ul-Madaris. She also holds an ijazah with a sanad in Tajweed-ul-Quran, Hafs 'an 'Asim. She has experience teaching children outside the Arab world who do not speak Arabic at home, and she speaks English, Urdu and Arabic.

Parents are welcome to ask for the details of her qualification on WhatsApp at +92 305 9637306. You can also read about her on the teacher page.

Each 30-minute class is live and one to one on Zoom. The teacher uses a digital pen and on-screen slides to mark the line being read, so your child can see exactly where a rule applies. Mistakes are corrected kindly, and effort is encouraged with positive reinforcement and reward stickers.

Three classes a week at $65 per month is a common choice for children reading the Quran, while two classes a week costs $45 per month. See all plans on the pricing page. Class times are booked around your family's time zone.

What should I expect from the course?

Progress varies with age, regular attendance and practice at home, and we do not promise a speed or a finish date. Tajweed improves slowly through repetition, and short daily reading helps more than a long session once a week. After the free trial class, the teacher will describe a realistic pace for your child, and you can decide from there.

Questions about kids quran teacher in United States

When is my child ready to start Quran reading with Tajweed?

Usually once your child knows the Arabic letters, the short vowels and can read simple joined words, which is what Noorani Qaida covers. If you are not sure, request the free trial. The teacher will listen to your child read and tell you where to begin, even if that means going back to the Qaida first.

Will my child learn the meaning of what they read?

This course focuses on reading the Quran correctly with Tajweed. Daily duas, manners and stories of the Prophets are taught in the Islamic studies course, where children learn what the words mean. Many families combine the two. You can ask the teacher how to balance them for your child.

How is correction done without discouraging a child?

The teacher corrects one point at a time and repeats it with the child until it sounds right, then moves on. She uses positive reinforcement and reward stickers, so a mistake becomes part of learning rather than a reason to feel ashamed. If your child seems nervous, tell the teacher and she will adjust.

Can older children and teenagers join?

Yes. Children up to the teenage years, and older learners who missed Tajweed when they were young, are welcome. The pace and the way each rule is explained are adjusted to the learner's age. The form asks for an age group so the academy can match your child with a suitable plan.

How do I book a trial class?

Fill in the short form on the trial page or message us on WhatsApp. The WhatsApp number is a required field, because that is where we reply. A teacher is matched to your child, subject to availability, and the trial class itself is free.
